Built from the ground up.
Timber reserves, factory floor, AI platform — all ours.
LogSmarter is a vertically integrated LVL manufacturer in Southern California. We own the production facility where your beams are cut. We hold the timber reserves that stabilize our pricing. We built the platform that gives you direct access to both — without a distributor in the middle.

Industry Structure
The problem wasn’t slow quotes. It was the structure that made them inevitable.
For decades, commercial LVL procurement has worked the same way. A GC needs material. They call a distributor. The distributor checks with their supplier. The supplier confirms or doesn’t. The distributor relays the answer — with a markup and a delay built into every step.
This isn’t inefficiency that better software can fix. It’s the logical outcome of a model where the person taking your order doesn’t own what they’re selling. A distributor can’t give you instant ATP confirmation, because they don’t control the production schedule. They can’t give you price stability, because their cost basis resets every time they reorder from the mill. They can’t do custom cuts in-house, because they don’t have a factory floor.
The solution wasn’t to build a faster version of the same chain. It was to own the chain.
LogSmarter’s founder spent years in commercial construction procurement. The insight that drove the company wasn’t “we should digitize the quote process.” It was simpler and more structural: if you own the timber, the production facility, and the platform — you can make commitments that a distributor structurally cannot. Instant order confirmation is not a feature. It’s a consequence of production ownership. Price stability is not a policy. It’s a consequence of holding your own raw material reserves. In-house custom cuts are not a capability add-on. They’re what happens when you have a factory floor.
LogSmarter was built to make those consequences accessible to GCs, procurement teams, and developers who are tired of paying a markup for a service that adds delay instead of value.
Production
This is what production ownership looks like.
Our Southern California production facility is where every standard beam is cut to spec and every custom dimension is processed — on our equipment, by our team, against our production schedule. When you place an order through the platform, the ATP check runs against this facility, not an external supplier feed. When you request a custom cut, it goes to our floor, not to a subcontractor’s queue.
Quality control is internal. Every product that leaves the facility has been processed under our specifications — not passed through a third-party QC process that we can’t verify or influence.

Timber Reserves
Why we hold timber reserves — and what it means for your pricing.
Lumber is a commodity. Its price moves with supply chain disruptions, tariff changes, seasonal demand, and mill capacity decisions that have nothing to do with your project. If your LVL supplier buys from a mill on the open market, every time they reorder, their cost basis resets to whatever the market is doing that week. And that reset moves through to your quotes.
We hold our own timber reserves. This means our pricing is insulated from immediate spot-market volatility. When the lumber futures curve spikes — as it did in 2021, and as it will again — our input cost doesn’t automatically reprice with it. Our pricing is based on our internal production cost, which is anchored to reserves we purchased at a different point in time.
This is not a price guarantee. Market conditions eventually work through any reserve position, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What it means is that our pricing mechanism is structurally different from a distributor’s — and that difference is most visible exactly when it matters most: when the market is moving fast and you’re trying to lock in a bid.
